When some time ago somebody tried to challenge Avenger in doing something unique and outstanding, they didn’t realize what they were up against… a hard core and tough personality, such as Avenger’s, has boundless resources. Street fighter attitude and a very sharp ingenuity brought to life this bad guy: Long John Silver.
Inspired by the most effective and advanced sailing technologies, Long John Silver is the captain of the Avenger ship. Tough and strong, his presence smells like his seawater soaked and moldy clothes, but he’s as majestic as the mainmast of his ship and as sturdy and hard as the mainsail hoisted and swollen by the Caribbean winds.
Baptized Long John Silver, the last of the Avengers has its roots deep into the sea and the world of sailing. Its wincher driven hoisting system and the mast-like shape of the column vividly suggest this connection every time you lay your hands on it. The pirate is ready to set sails for new horizons…get ready to face your destiny!
Long John Silver is a wincher driven hoisting system. It hoists its loads in just one easy and quick movement. A 2-year long period of designing and field testing led Avenger to the birth of a product that is specifically studied to raise to 6 m the most important lighting loads in the new cine market (in terms of heads and movers) up to 120 kg.
The idea for CrossPole came to us when we were visiting a set in Venice. The lack of ceilings or floor to support the equipment over the canals that were being filmed made us dream of a new product that could overcome the difficulties and limitations of the location. The result was the CrossPole: a support system as simple as it is useful!
The Avenger CrossPole is a heavy-duty telescopic pole designed to span gaps from 80cm (2.7ft) up to 6 meters (19.7ft) and support up to 75kg (165lb) of lighting equipment and grip gear at any height from the ground.
A protective plate at each end allows the pole to expand between ordinary upright walls without damaging them and without the use of nails, screws or glue. Safety and security features make it ideal even for the kind of heavy loads that film lighting demands.
